10.0 out of 10, Exceptional, (144)
"Perfect location (no tourist, walk to anything one wants). Perfect house, four floors for family and friends to spread out across. For queer folk, super nice queer-bar 15-minute walk away (seriously friendly and welcomining). Host was amazing (responding in minutes or hours to every question or request). Exceeded every possible expectation. Will come back to this house/host on our next visit. And if not available on the dates we ask.... we're so keen, that we'll just change our travel dates so...

"This hotel met my needs perfectly for a 5 day stay in Edinburgh. I had just gotten off a 7 day hike in the Higlands and needed their laundry facilities to clean up my hiking clothes. Having the kitchen available meant I did not have to go out for every meal and could eat a little healthier because I was preparing the food. Being on the royal mile meant I was close to the train station for 2 day trips, and close to town to see sights. I was frustrated that I had to drag my packed bag 10...

"The staff are very friendly. The rooms are airy and large. The shower is a bit of a mission to get into. The paint on the cupboard and side table is chipped and needs to be touched up. Windows open to allow fresh air as the room gets stuffy when the heaters are on. Breakfast is served quickly and the breakfast room is nicely laid out. Location is great to walk around Edinburgh."

"I was upgraded to a castle view room upon my arrival which was really nice. Reception staff were very friendly and allowed me an early check in as my room was ready. The beds were comfy and breakfast was very good. The only thing was that there was a bit of toothpaste not cleaned off the sink (it was behind the taps so I could see how it could be missed) and a shower cap was still hanging on the back of the bathroom door.
