"Excellent stay at the Cheval The Edinburgh Grand. It is located in the New Town area but it is a short walk to Old Town. We found it was a nice respite to leave the Old Town area due to how busy it is (think Times Square busy). Every person we encountered at the hotel was extremely nice and professional. Our room was clean and comfortable. would highly recommend to anyone visiting Edinburgh."

Our televisions worked, but the cable connection was too poor to watch anything. To be fair, we experienced a heavy storm while there, so that could have contributed. ""Apartment" is overselling what is a wing of 6 dorm rooms with a shared kitchen and two bathrooms. You get all the noise (slamming doors, hearing neighboring 'apartment' conversations) of dormitory living - but the location is excellent for central Edinburgh."
