"Fantastic hotel located in a good spot! There was no hair dryer in the room and the situation with the bathroom being glass made the whole room light up when someone used it in the middle of the night. Controlling any of the room lights is also inconvenient. A hair dryer in the room would have been helpful too. That obviously didn’t change our experience much and we would stay there again. Service was amazing too. "

"I liked but didn’t love the stay at this hotel . Things we liked : clean, spacious, having a washer, nice and walkable center. I didn’t like the fact that we had trouble with the hot water the first day and night and, overall, I expected more from a 5 star hotel ( daily room keeping ?! ). Probably we won’t return as we really loved the 4 star place we stayed before but they were booked when we decided to stay longer so we had to find another hotel. "

"Fantastic hotel very modern and trendy. Breakfast is amazing the best in Edinburgh. I upgraded to the balcony room which is great as the weather was lovely so we sat outside for a few drinks before evening meal which is rare in Edinburgh. Views are great and staff impeccable. Shops around are modern but easy walking distance to the castle and all the history in Edinburgh. Just across the road is the train station so no need for a taxi. "

"Staff are terrific, the hotel is beautifully presented, with lovely colour themes, decor, design, linen, toiletries, even complimentary champagne on ice when you arrive. I do hope the bedding/mattress topper is changed, the bed is suffocating, it’s far too fluffy! The shower in the bath tub is an accident waiting to happen, and please offer some hair conditioner. Coffee isn’t flash in the rooms, or in the dining room. "

"It was a beautiful hotel with many cozy public rooms to hang out in and have a drink or afternoon tea. The food was very good and the location was great. Our room was quite large with big windows and a nice bathroom. Everyone there from the front desk to the bartenders were very pleasant and helpful. Would definitely stay there again."

"I have stayed at this hostel many times but always before with other people-= so it was especially great to have a room to myself - with everything you could need for a comfortable stay. The buffet breakfast was good and coffee was too .The last time i stayed the road outside was being converted for the tram lines-but now that the tram runs almost to the door from Waverley station and the airport it is excellent. The room was clean modern and a lot better than the hotel I stayed in for the rest...

"Excellent refurb. Not stayed for many years but a vast difference from the Golf Inn days. Only point might be its a bit pricey in the Stables restaurant.. Also need stronger coffee in the mornings - stick an extra spoon in the pot please!"
