One of the United Kingdom’s foremost concert and theater venues overlooks the Irish Sea and the rocky beach of Llandudno.

A modern building whose form echoes the heyday of Llandudno’s Victorian boardwalk, Venue Cymru is the best place in North Wales to see performing artists of all genres. From music to theater, from West End shows to some of today’s biggest pop stars, the venue and attached conference hall attract visitors from all over the United Kingdom and performers from all over the world.

As you stroll down the promenade towards the venue, take in the scenery. The sea crashes into rocks nearby and modern spires appear over the roofs of the surrounding buildings. Buy your ticket or an ice cream from the lobby, then go back outside to await curtain call with other concertgoers milling about and looking out to the ocean. Chat and mingle, then head inside at the chime, to take your seat in the plush chairs. Feel the excitement in the room rise as the lights dim and the performers come onto the stage. The angling of the rows towards the stage ensures every seat has a good view of the stage.

Imagine the venue that used to stand here on the edge of Ty’n-y-ffrith, “the house in the sheep pasture,” the Victoria Palace, which once attracted early 20th century stars like Sir Charles and Lady Hallé. Appreciate the modern performers that now grace this stage. Relax and let the music or dramatics wash over you, or get to your feet and dance the night away.

Venue Cymru is right on the promenade in the east of Llandudno, a 2-minute drive or 11-minute walk from the railway station in the center of town. Drive there in 5 minutes or walk there in 20 minutes from the Llandudno Pier. The venue is a bit over an hour’s drive from Liverpool. There is metered parking in an on-site lot, or it is generally easy to find parking elsewhere in town and walk to the venue.
