"A very warm welcome, nothing was too much trouble. All the staff we met were very friendly, the evening meal in the Brasserie was excellent, a stunning room. A perfect location for a weekend in York, just a short walk to the centre. "

"The decor was lovely and different. We enjoyed the bath in the room, felt like a treat. The underfloor heating in the large bathroom was nice and the coffee machine was a nice extra too. The heating was not very intuitive and therefore we were a bit cold however it was a particularly icy day. Overall, we’d recommend this hotel for a nice stay which is a bit different. "

"Impressive building with a feeling of class and sophistication. Staff friendly and helpful. Gym is good for a hotel facility. We picked a garden view room which was worth it as the view was fantastic to wake up to. Nice bar and (depending on which time of year you go) ‘Thors tipi’ located in the grounds, gave a lovely Xmas vibe. Came a few years ago and the hotel has benefited massively from the refurb. Right next to the train station. Parking onsite "
