"Amazing cottage with double bed on mezzanine floor accessible by staircase. Not suitable for persons with accessibility problems. Bed is near to wall with low headroom on one side. We had no problems. Kitchen and downstairs toilet/sink/shower room. Plenty of hot water. Milk and butter in fridge. Tea, coffee provided. All crockery, pans, tea towels, towels, dressing gowns etc clean. Kitchen cupboards a little dusty. We had to arrive late and leave early so no breakfast and didn't go into the...

"The Hideaway is a quaint cottage with outstanding cleanliness and amenities. The added touch of snacks waiting for us was so appreciated and welcomed. I also appreciated the flyers of local activities. Communication was excellent and very prompt…an added touch of hospitality. Neighbors were friendly and well accommodating while we were unloading. And York is a lovely city."

"This cottage is represented well by the photographs on the website. It had everything we needed for our stay. We are two adults and two children (15, 12) and there was adequate room for us all. There were no issues with parking directly outside the property, we managed to get a space everytime. Helmsley is a lovely place, everyone was very friendly. This cottage was an excellent base for exploring the nearby area."

"My partner and I (and our dog) stayed at Gemma’s lovely cottage and we couldn’t be happier! Communication was prompt, the cottage was immaculate when we arrived and fully equipped, and the village of Burythorpe was beautiful! Highly recommend popping into the pub across the street as it was lovely. Gemma also provided several great recommendations in the guest book and we are sad that we couldn’t get to everything in our weekend stay! Would definitely come back, thanks Gemma!"

I do think the property does need updating a little and it would have been nice if the hot tub had been filled on arrival, the hot tub also needs a cover as unless you like cold feb rain wouldn’t have been enjoyable. "The location is fabulous, the apartment is fantastic and amenities great. The beds were not great, very uncomfortable. They advertise luggage storage and before we checked in they stored our luggage and then took it to our room when the room was ready, that was awesome, but when we asked for luggage storage on our check out we were told we would have to pay. Staff were very friendly and helpful."

"Have never been to a Glamping pod before but would absolutely visit the little hide again. The pod was a good size and had everything we needed. Great location and the showers/ toilets are well kept. Would come back next time and will bring a disposable bbq to use at the shared area."
