"The Bears Paw is a lovely country pub with a splendid kitchen and very comfortable rooms... and a very warm welcome to dogs!! The rooms are very nicely decorated, generously sized and comfortable. "We came here after we got married for a little mini-moon. The room had rose petals on the bed which was a nice touch from the hotel - thank you! We stayed in the Flamingo room and made the most of the lovely copper bath. It was gorgeous. Big room with a seperate area with sofa tv and kitchenette. Perfect for one night but could also be good if you were staying longer. Couldn’t fault the hotel, had everything we needed and staff were super friendly and attentive. We will definitely be back...

"Great hotel, bar and restaurant with friendly and welcoming staff, and excellent service throughout our stay. Room was clean, well equipped, comfortable and modern. It would have been nice to have had the heating on when we arrived but appreciate that we’d recently had a change in weather. Bar has wide selection of drinks and food is excellent. Views are fantastic on a clear day and outdoor seating is available. Would (and have) happily recommend to friends and family"

"Excellent stay. We used the valet parking so drove straight up to the hotel and left the keys with concierge. Rooms are on the small side but have such high ceilings, it doesn’t feel that way. Shower was great and bed was comfortable. Finished our night at the bar on the 7th floor. It’s for residents and members only so we had the outside terrace to ourselves. "

"It’s a classic hotel in Chester in the city centre. Very convenient. Everything is satisfactory except the water taps, which I would hope the hot water and cold water don’t come in separate taps! And of course it’s a little aged, but on the whole okay."
