"Was not informed of the building work going on outside the building at the back when we checked in. Was very noisy from 8.20 and there was also work going on in the room next and woke us up with the noise. Not sure if there were refurbishing it "

"Finding your room if you're back from a night out can be a difficult task. Close to the drama of the central city district, where the area is full of life and never sleeps. Best amenities for a brief stay if you're planning on spending a lot of time out and just need a clean, safe, close place to crash. Loved it"

That said, the hotel itself was located in a lovely area and very convenient to public transport, good eating and some lovely parks Two drawbacks of the hotel were the extremely long wait for check in and the fact that they chose one of the busiest weekends in London in the sporting calendar to repaint two of their lifts - considering that each bank of elevators had only 4 (very small)...

There were no tea and coffee facilities in the rooms which was not great. The price was good and I slept fairly well here. "

"It was convenient as we were there for an almost 20 hour layover, but check-in is at 1600 unless you pay an additional 79 GBP, which I did because we needed sleep. We left at 0330 and the staff were amazing and getting assistance accommodations set-up. Breakfast was toast and jam some coffee/tea choices. The real breakfast wasn't out but the time we left at 0430."

"What we loved most about The Tavistock was the convenience. We took the tube directly from Heathrow to Russel Square. The hotel was a few minutes walk. We also walked to Euston Station and Kings Cross. We enjoyed many restaurants and pubs as well. All within walking distance. "

"My friend and i had a couple of days getaway in London. The hotel was easy to find and is a short walk from the tube at Canary Wharf. The room was clean and the staff were friendly and helpful"

"This is the second time I have stayed. The staff are super accommodating. It’s very central and close to most of what London has to offer. Kensington high Street is a ten minute walk away, Notting Hill gate 30 minutes. I love it. "
