Blogger Picks: Berlin Hotels for Clubbers

“The German capital’s legendary clubbing culture has transformed Berlin into the techno capital of the world in a relatively short space of time. Following the fall of the Berlin wall, the clubbing scene burst from a new-found freedom where clubs reclaimed abandoned factories and commercial buildings, and Berliners found a new identity. We asked six bloggers to pick hotels that reflect the city’s hedonistic party scene and place you on the doorstop of some of the best clubs around…

Moxy Berlin Ostbahnhof, Berlin
——————————–

Chosen by: Adam from Travels of Adam

“The new Moxy hotel at Ostbahnhof is a great choice for Berlin clubbers. The hotel is walking distance to the world’s greatest club, Berghain, and just a short way away from other big clubs in the popular RAW-Tempel area on Revaler Strasse. The hotel’s lobby is a great spot to start a night out with regular events, parties and a cool chill-out bar and lounge great for meeting other travelers. The fun environment of the Moxy and the mix of young weekenders makes it a great spot to explore Berlin’s legendary nightlife. And, for those that are especially lazy, the club is literally just across the street from YAAM-a Berlin beach bar and club with an everyday food truck stand serving Jamaican and African food dishes outside the reggae and hip-hop club.”

Hotel Michelberger, Friedrichshain
————————————

Chosen by: Andrew from Berlin Loves You

“Berlin’s original ‘cool’ hotel, Michelberger Hotel in Friedrichshain, is directly in the centre of the Berlin nightclub scene, both figuratively and literally. Whilst being a short, blissed-out sway from almost every notable Berlin club – Berghain, Wilde Renate, Kater Blau, Golden Gate, Watergate, the RAW-Gelände… the list goes on – you’ve also a good chance of running into the big-name DJs who frequent the hotel’s bars, restaurants and passageways.”

Hotel Klassik, Friedrichshain
——————————-

Chosen by: Job from Berlin-Enjoy

“One of the best located hotels in Berlin is Hotel Klassik on Revaler Straße in Friedrichshain. This area is probably the most vibrant part of town, and within walking distance from the Hotel you can visit about eight different clubs. Famous clubs like the Watergate, Berghain and Suicide Circus are only five minutes away. Another great thing is that there are also heaps of interesting bars and restaurants around this area of Berlin. Have a look in the Simon Dach Straße if you want to go for dinner or have a beer. If partying is one of the main reasons you are visiting Berlin, this hotel has an awesome location.”

PLUS Berlin, Friedrichshain
—————————-

Chosen by: Christina from Happy to Wander

“If your plan is to party, you can’t go wrong with PLUS Berlin. It’s located in the ultra-cool Friedrichshain district, which is packed with nightlife. The rooms are basic but very clean, and the facilities are great with a pool, sauna, bar and restaurant on-site. The hotel is partially a hostel as well, which means a very youthful, energetic and ‘party-ready’ vibe.”

Ibis Berlin Ostbahnhof, Berlin
——————————–

Chosen by: Duncan from Urban Travel Blog

“There’s not much sexy about Ibis’s Ostbahnhof branch… except for its location, which couldn’t be better if you’re determined to delve deep into Berlin’s notorious nightlife scene. You are 15 minutes’ walk away from the epic Berghain & Panorama Bar, 11 minutes from historic techno club Tresor, 15 minutes from kinky KitKat Club, and 21 minutes’ walk from glamorous Watergate. During the day, you’re on the doorstep of hip beach bar YAAM on the Spree’s river banks. With a cheap roof over your head and no need for taxis, you can siphon most of your travel budget into the fun stuff.”

Pfefferbett Hostel, Berlin
—————————-

Chosen by: Margherita from The Crowded Planet

Pfefferbett Hostel in Prenzlauer Berg is a perfect choice for those coming to Berlin in search of nightlife. And when I say ‘hostel’, I’m not talking about dodgy dorms – Pfefferbett is part of the new breed of ‘luxury hostels’, and it offers spacious private rooms with ensuite toilets where silence and rest are guaranteed. If you want to party, just head to the hostel bar or hit Prenzlauer Berg’s many hangouts – our favourites include Dunckerclub, Bassy and Pong Bar.”
