Very attentive, friendly and polite staff. There was a wide choice of food in the very clean dining room but the lighting made it feel like a canteen. Food/plates could have been hotter though a microwave oven was available. Fruit juice was available and the hot drinks machine offered a selection of coffees, chocolate, milk and water to make tea at breakfast. At dinner time drinks could be purchased from the bar but tap water was available in jugs when requested.
The bar/entertainment area was not very welcoming though a wide selection of drinks was available.
Our twin room on the 5th floor was cleaned daily. The beds were very comfortable and the balcony offered great views of the pool, beach bar, the beach and the Med Sea. The mirror wardrobes were spacious and there was plenty of storage in drawers and a fridge.
Car parking was gated but was an extra €70 for the week.
It was an easy and very pleasant walk of about 10 minutes along the beach boardwalk into Cala Mijas with its variety of shops and restaurants.
It was a convenient location for the many golf courses in the area and the local park(virtually next door) offered petanc courts, an outdoor gym and a children’s play area.
All in all it was a great week’s stay and we would definitely book the Vik Gran again.

The hotel is fantastic, the staff was so friendly, the food spread was delicious and variable. The breakfast was my favourite, fresh guacamole, amongst other things, was the best way to start the day!
For those wanting to travel by bus there is a bus stop right outside the hotel. It takes about 40 minutes to get to the city centre. There is also a QR code listed at the stop which tells in how many minutes the bus will arrive at the stop, this is extremely handy for planning the departure time from sitting in your hotel room!

Great hotel but if you aren’t all inclusive you have to pay extra for everything including splash park, kuds club etc we were full board as only stated 3 days

Nice hotel close to the beach, but already a little run-down. The view from the balcony on the fifth floor was excellent, but the air-conditioning was noisy, I had to turn it off. At the weekend, a group showed up late at night and I could hear their talk and laughter through my room door. Breakfast was good, it offered everything I needed. The hotel was good for my business trip, but I wouldn't choose it as a holiday destination.

Check in was good with a welcome drink from a very friendly Gonzalo. Unfortunately it went downhill from there. The hotel has a lot of steps and the rooms are located outside the main building so we had to drag our luggage through the theatre, up and down steps to reach our room- it felt poorly designed with little thought to guests comfort. Thankfully we only had small cases. Our "Superior Deluxe" room was very cold, the heating wasn't working, when reported it was "fixed"- however the temperature never got hot enough and the room felt damp. The towel rail fell off the wall when removing a towel, it was reported and fixed. The shower temperature kept fluctuating from cold to warm to boiling but we had given up reporting and waiting in the room for things to be fixed as we were only there for 2 nights. The buffet breakfast had cold bacon 1st day and cold scrambled eggs the 2nd, the orange juice was watery. It was cold weather and the waitress kept exiting the restaurant via the fire doors and leaving them open letting in a cold draught. Overall a disappointing stay.

Nice hotel but definitely not a true 5 star hotel, let down by poor gastronomy in its restaurant and 3 star breakfast. Coffee is terrible. Food service overall is not up to standard with both poor quality and poor options available. Staff lacked basic English speaking skills and for a 5 star hotel this is just not good enough. Mini bar in the suite empty, Room service options poor, no room service for breakfast, again not acceptable for a 5 start hotel. Area isolated with few dining options. Over promised and under delivered, disappointed !

I really appreciate the hotel's warm and welcoming atmosphere, and its convenient location is a definite advantage for guests.
However, I understand the current decor might not meet everyone's expectations. A minor refurbishment and updating the furniture could elevate the experience for future visitors.
