"We chose this hotel based on price and the fact that it's only a brisk 15-minute walk from the nearby HS/Community College stadium and Warhill sports complex, which we had to be at for a travel sports event for our child. After a long year of staying at the team hotel for travel soccer, we were delighted to find something half the distance for half the price. We loved the retro architectecture, which we kind of remembered from stopping at Howard Johnson's as kids. That part is exactly as pictured in the photos. The pool was mostly open when it was supposed to be when we were there, and the pool area is super nice. The last day we were there they failed to open up the also nice breakfast room by the pool at 7 as it said on the sign or even by 9, but other than that they delivered on everything they were supposed to and all the basic stuff worked (a leaky tub faucet didn't much bother us). Breakfast is reasonably good muffins, wrapped chewy granola bars and convenience store apples. Coffee is good while it lasts (until around 10). Our child had a super early game the first day so we asked about a to go bag of breakfast and that was a no, but we thought that was fair. The rooms were basically clean and we found the decor a nice alternative to the bigger chains, but we did see one tiny roach in the sink late at night. The hallways are also a mixed bag. It seems like they're understaffed for housekeeping, though they do eventually come and are very nice. As other people"

"The first room we were in was definitely NOT cleaned before hand and smelled funny— at least the bedding was changed. The AC didn’t work though so we got moved to a different room for the second night which was a little cleaner. There was barely any breakfast— no protein of any sort. Apparently they ran out of eggs. The place is run down and needs updating. It is almost as though the staff has also resigned to the fact that most things don’t work. Not one single apology for anything, not even a friendly smile."

"Impressed that housekeeping would daily make the bed, refresh the coffee bar, and put towels in the bathroom. Haven't experienced since the covid shutdown. I also liked that the pool is indoors, there was a convenient restaurant and bar and a 7-11 with gas station across the street."

"The property is located in beautiful Williamsburg, on the Chesapeake. We stayed in a 1 bedroom condominium that was very spacious, clean and overall comfortable. There were 2 things that we had a problem with. The bed was uncomfortable, not the worse I have ever slept in but definitely not comfortable and my back hurt in the morning. Also it seems the shower leaked into the place underneath us. Other than those 2 issues it was good. I would recommend it for location and cleanliness. We did not try the restaurants on location so no comment."

"Breakfast was below average, room was clean but a piece of the wall paper was peeling off the wall, it took a while for the water to warm up in the shower. The room was definitely spacious. I am undecided if I would return to this hotel"
