Hotel needs updating in area's the room we had definitely needed new carpet and decorating,over all cleanliness ok staff pleasant and helpful. Disappointed outdoor pool closed all week, spa pool and gym nice,breakfast very good ,dining room pleasant, staff hardworking. Close to station and local buses.

We’ve been to the Grand quite a few times now, either to stay, or for lunch. It’s always a great place to visit. The staff are very friendly and the setting is perfect. I know that some of the decor is looking a little tired, but for the price, it’s very good value. It has everything we need and more.

House keeping was poor, staff were unfriendly and unhelpful, toilet seat was broken on arrival and breakfast options were limited. The only good things were the great location, comfortable beds and decent room size. Save your money and go somewhere else!

Hotel was nice. Actual bedroom was in need of modernisation. Bar only had one member of staff when we arrived which wasn't ideal but she coped and they did eventually get her some help. Function room was good and breakfast in the morning was ok but nothing special.

The room needs a deep clean,dirty windows,rip in sheets and duvet cover,when I told reception the lady said that linen was sent to outside contractor and wasn't bothered by my comment.Breakfast was plentiful but cooked food wasn't hot.indoor pool was cold water.cigarettes ends on balcony.Fantastic view and lovely decor but some areas could do with updating.

Amazing stay !!! The room was large with a beautiful seaview. Breakfast was perfect and we ate in The Brasserie two evenings in a row and the food was excellent. Can recommend the Grand Burger ! I had a leg treatment/ massage by Jamie in the spa which was perfect and just what I needed. Thank you Jamie ! Will definitely return to The Grand

This is a very large and quite old hotel. The room we stayed in was large and pleasant but the hotel's plumbing was loud enough to disturb our sleep, as were the footsteps of the people in the room above. The WiFi in the room was inadequate and kept cutting out. I had to use the public areas to work. We booked the hotel because it had an outdoor pool, only to find that it was out-of-service during our stay. Whilst this might have been unavoidable, the staff weren't particularly concerned about our disappointment. The staff seemed tired and undertrained. Note that the hotel is located at the far end of the bay and Torquay's bars and restaurants are quite a walk away. There is limited parking available.

The hotel has amazing character and suits those looking to experience British history! Super friendly staff, relaxed atmosphere and quite out there interior design vs the boring modern hotels. The poached eggs with the breakfast were also some of the best I have ever had.

The rooms were shabby ,cracks on wall . Cleaning was nit done very well and bathroom drainage in shower was poor. I did tell reception that water was not draining in the shower but nothing was done. I was also overcharged and didn't realise it it until I got home . The accounting system at reception is very poor needs modernising. Security personnel going around the pool area to check if guests were realty staying at the hotel was also not very professional. I would not go back there.
