Modern and happening hotel. Good restaurant at the lobby and service was fabulous. Only pet peeve was our room was scheduled for cleaning on our 3rd day - 7 June betw 10am-230pm. We planned a morning activity and returned to the hotel at 230pm. Yet our room wasn’t cleaned. I checked with the reception and the lady said the hotel was very crowded and they overlooked cleaning my room. I told the lady that I’ll leave at 4pm and she said the staff won’t be able to do so. Imagine staying in a room not cleaned and sheets not changed for 4 days and 3 nights. Despite a good stay in this hotel (we liked the hard pillows and the water pressure was good) and the bakery at the entrance had yummy bakes, we won’t return.

In Tokyo you get what you pay for. The rooms are very awkward. We are used to small (hey it’s Japan) but the bathroom is maybe 4’x5’ and up a large step. The restaurants are good but make reservations as they are always busy. The staff is helpful but again odd, they charge you to call a taxi, which we did not find out until day 2. All in all the hotel and staff are fine just not great.

Excellent location within a 10 minute walk to two different subway stations. Morethan restaurant was a great in Hotel food experience. Plenty of convenient stores close by. Very quiet.

3.5 stars ROOM (2.5/5): ~Rooms were VERY small (180sq ft) but manageable if you plan ahead ~No drawers or closet ~Mini fridge was off when we checked in and did not get very cold ~Safe, water kettle, coffee/tea, toiletries were available ~Beds were extremely firm; pillows were beady and a little uncomfortable (only 1 per bed, but was able to request more) ~Bathroom was also very small, but water pressure was good ~Door is an electronic lock and PIN provided at check in; make sure you put your whole palm on the lock face to activate it SERVICE/STAFF (5/5): ~Check-in and Check-out were very easy ~They were very helpful with anything we would ask them ~Front desk was able to help me with filling out luggage shipping slip and confirmation (you drop of at the Family Mart down the street) HOTEL (3/5): ~Location is a 15 minute walk to Shinjuku station; about 10 minutes from Ueno Line; very quiet neighborhood ~Bus stops and taxis are readily available right in front of the hotel ~Bakery attached to the hotel was SO GOOD ~No gym or pool ~Vending machines available inside the hotel ~Affordable price

We selected the property as it’s close to a park and in a less congested area. The lounge areas are comfortable and well used. The restaurant, breakfast buffet and bakery were great. The raisin bread was such a nice treat. The room was small but we managed. More hooks on the walls would be helpful and allow you to unpack more comfortably. We would recommend a stay at The Knot.
