Everything was great but the gym was under renovation and unavailable. We would not have stayed if we knew. The gym looked awesome and was part of the reason we booked there. That was a bummer, they should have let people know.

This hotel was incredible! We got there exhausted early morning and they allowed us to check in right away and had a room ready for us. Its centrally located to everything and we were able to take the bus from Bus Stop 5. We also walked to the BSI station which is only 20 mins away. The staff were courteous and kind. Housekeeping always did a great job as well. I wish they had more chicken or vegan food options on their menu, but other than that, everything was perfect! I’d definitely stay here again.

Beautiful property with beautiful views of the harbor. Walking distance from all the shops and restaurants. 1 minute away from bus station 5, very convenient for daily tour pickups. Staff was super friendly. Hotel bar was fun place to hang out at nights…Make sure to try the welcome drink.

The hotel is really nice and when you walk in they are very polite at check-in and it smells wonderful! They even gave us an upgrade for our room... We decided to get a drink at the terrace for the view since it was our first day at Reykjavik, but service was poor... The speak easy bar at night was fabulous on the other hand! Next morning for breakfast, it was Sunday and the service stopped at 11AM. We got 10:45AM at at 11:01AM they started cleaning the floor with the vacuum around our table, extremely annoying, and the person doing this job, was doing a lot of noise with the vacuum cleaner and the legs of the tables and chairs. I understand they have a lunch service after, but this is not the kind of service you expect in this type of hotel.

Overall the hotel was excellent and perfect for our needs. As Reykjavik has a relatively small city centre area, everything is in walking distance and the location of the hotel meant everything was a short walk away/walk home. A hidden gem was the coffee shop just off reception, the coffees and pastries available there were delicious. Even better we could use our daily credits there so it was a real treat and a great way to start the day. We were also lucky enough to eat at the hotel’s restaurant ‘Tides’, the Chef’s Tasting Menu and the wine pairing was incredible.

great time... the floors are heated in the bathrooms, staff was very friendly.. hint to travelers, most restaurants don't have a tipping option, but they do at the edition. bring some smaller bills for doorman, valet. I had US currency and only had $20's...They liked me a lot! Great place in the middle of everything

A wonderful hotel next to the incredible Harpa concert hall by the harbour - with great access to the city centre and nearby restaurants. Staff were brilliant and were more than accomodating. Be aware of the resort fees/holding charge on your card - staff were helpful in explaining how this works. Great cocktails and tasty lunch, as well as a relaxing spa experience.

A beautiful hotel in a beautiful city. We stayed here to celebrate my mums 60th and had a truly wonderful experience. We were upgraded to a room with a harbour view, complimentary Prosecco and cake to welcome us and also a complimentary drink with our meal on the first night. The concierge was very helpful to prior to our stay with recommended tour companies and airport travel. The staff very knowledgeable and friendly. Breakfast delicious! The hotel is not cheap, but nothing in Iceland is and you most certainly get what you pay for with this hotel.

Extra charges left a bad taste
Overall the hotel is very good and in keeping with the Edition standard. However I found the extra charges a bit underhanded. Use of the spa for 2 people was $60, and the car park daily $30, neither of which is clearly advertised at time of booking. When paying nearly 1k a night for a room, I think the expectation really should be facilities are included. Instead the price of the room is quietly increased by 10%. I think most guests do not mind the extra charges, but they should be included from the point of booking as a matter of principle.

The staff were very nice and helpful. Really thought they were helpful and friendly. The rooms were fine. Some buttons already showing wear and tear - given how new hotel is this doesn’t seem good.The coffee machines super hard to use as jammed into slide out trays and hard to use as limited access. Good showers. The spa steps were broken and no towels or robes (this was 1 hr before it closed). The food at Tides was mediocre at best. Expensive and stodgy vegetarian options for the Christmas special menu (maybe meat was better?)

Great rooms, spa access for guests, a number of dining options, valet service, and great staff. Convenient location just away from the bustle, so still quiet and perfect if you’re also seeing a show at the Harpa. Wonderful place to stay and a nice home base from where you can explore Reykjavík.

Very expensive for a mear Marriott. They seem to think they are a better hotel than they are. They charge $1000 "deposit" hold on my CC, which was more than the actual room rates.
