The Camberley

8/10 Good
"Warmly greeted by Kimberley as usual. Great to check in early and leave the car in the car park, Charge to park of £10 I remember free car parking before they put electric charging points in which was one of the reasons for staying, I’m guessing they are wanting to fall in line with all the other hoteliers in Harrogate. Stayed here many times and had a different room each time. The rooms seem to vary quite a lot. This time the room was small, no full length mirror, decor a little dull and uninviting, one pack of biscuits for 2 people and very hard brick like pillows! Not one of the nicest of rooms we’ve stayed in. The bathroom was tiny, though with a very nice shower, pressure of water great and toiletries provided. Love that they provide locally sourced toiletries too. The guest house is well situated and only a short walk to the centre of Harrogate and Weatherspoons for a breakfast! This is always my first choice when we visit Harrogate as the people are so lovely and the location is perfect. I guess it’s the luck of the draw as to which room you get!"

"This is a good looking hotel, outside the floral decorations were beautiful and the outside seating was great. Inside the bar and restaurant areas were very impressive. Checkin was a bit slow as a few people were waiting, but another member of staff appeared and we were seen to efficiently. Our room, standard double, pet friendly, was fairly standard. We looked out onto a fire escape and a unit (air con?) was noisy during the day, but not at night. Space wise it was a bit tight, but we have a large German Shepherd, and there was not a lot of room for him. The bed was large and really comfortable, nice bedding. Bathroom was good, the shower cubicle was spacious and the shower powerful. Lovely toiletries provided. We had two dinners, very good, and breakfast was varied and plentiful. The staff were all friendly and professional and we appreciated being able to bring our dog to somewhere nice."

"Lovely clean room, a few stains on the carpet, which was a shame, but overall a lovely stay and excellent spa. The highlight was the staff, who were friendly, helpful and professional. It seems the biggest complaint from people is the car park, which, according to the staff, is actually not owned by them but by the council, so it's nothing they can control the pricing of. Which, when the guy in front of me was complaining loudly to the reception staff about the price, seems not very fair."
