The rooms on 13th floor felt tired, bed wasnt comfy, breakfast was cold and then to top it off putting service charge on all drinks bought at the bar
Everything was lovely just the room was really hot and no window to open option. Tap was really difficult to switch off. Everything else was first class.
Nice room with comfy bed. Friendly staff. Good location.
But so disappointed with the stay. After a party somewhere else, some of us staying fancied a night cap / coffee. But no bar facilities at all and only 12.45am; asked if we could have drinks in the lobby (no lounge???!) but no licence to serve there. So asked if we could have coffee, but they don’t serve coffee or any hot drinks in the evening! Seriously - how can you be an ‘international’ city centre hotel with such, in my opinion, poor customer service. Especially when paying an expensive room rate; the Metro One hotel in Newcastle had a bar that stays open until 3am serving alcohol, soft drinks, coffee or tea. All at half the room rate cost. IHG need to take a leaf out of their book. The only option was room service, yeah we all like drinking alone or squashed sat on someone’s bed!
Pleasant stay but needs an updated digital service
During our recent stay, we found the accommodations to be quite pleasant, offering a significant view. The rooms, while lovely, could benefit from a modernization of electrical outlets, as they were limited in number. We did experience some noise due to water maintenance and a minor, one-time ceiling leak, but housekeeping was exceptionally prompt and attentive, ensuring all our needs were met daily.
The spa facilities were a highlight of our visit; we thoroughly enjoyed the daily use of the jacuzzi, steam room, and sauna, all of which were maintained to a high standard. The staff in this area were consistently friendly and attentive.
The only notable drawback was the hotel's digital infrastructure. The QR code and in-room television services were non-functional, preventing us from placing an order for a meal one evening. This issue, combined with the hotel's limited and outdated online presence—including an incorrect "permanently closed" status on Google Maps—was the sole reason for our four-star rating.
Our first room on 8th floor was noisy re electrical buzzing however staff changed us quickly and pleasantly with a drinks voucher
New room excellent as is this hotel staff and food is exceptional.
We only stayed one night but used all facilities pool sauna steam room ,restaurant and the cloud 23 cocktails to end the day .
Hotel was excellent.
Only slight downside, tv suggested sky sports channels but did not play them. The restaurant is expensive but there are lots of great options in local area.
A good hotel and hope to return.

Clean basic room. Quite a lot of noise at night (not patrons but creaking and air con etc)
Rooms very business with no personality. All a little tired (carpets and marked furniture).
Staff friendly but disinterested
The in room dining QR code didn’t work.
It was fine, but for the money especially the room was very tatty and run down. The bathroom door didn’t close, there were stains on the desk, the paint was very chipped. Overall just very tired - such a shame - and at the price, and for the brand, I expected a lot better
Hotel was very clean, approachable staff, quick check in and good destination from most places/events. On arrival the room was very clean, great variety of towels available for use and other amenities. However, stain found on carpet near the bin, bed was uncomfortable and made a noise on the slightest movement, no extra pillows available for use, nil ice available at ice dispenser. Check out was easy and done quickly.
It was a birthday stay and had paid extra for the executive room. Nothing extra special about the room , no extra amenities and a birthday drink for one , should have been at least for two if your staying with someone . Room wasn’t very big either !! Not as expected I’m afraid
