Good for a night stay but wouldn’t recommend anymore than that. One thing that really annoyed me was what seemed to look like mice or rat droppings under the duvet when we pulled them back, was only 2 little bits but was very annoyed. Pretty standard place to stay

This is a historic building but it is so old that I do wonder if it is time to do some major renovations. I have been to other vintage hotels that have better rooms and amenities. There was a very cramped staircase to my room and the room itself was so small I wouldn’t have considered it suitable for more than 1 person. The furnishings are also very limited. There were no food options other than breakfast. Honestly I think this hotel is needing major updating if it is to keep guests.

The building is a beautiful house. However, the bathrooms are really dangerous. Large slippery tiles on the floor make it easy to slip. A very high tub makes it hard to climb in. Hooks are hung so high a 5'4" person has to stand on tiptoes to reach. It seems that no one tthought of using these bathrooms when they were built. Rooms are also extremely small.

Lovely building & architecture but in need of a bit of attention in places. Room was quite small but ok but bed was not comfortable and pillows flat! We asked for firmer pillows but they never appeared! Overall we enjoyed our stay though. Breakfast was good & great location for Kensington Park.

this was of the worst and totally overpriced hotels i have ever been staying. the room is horrible, very dirty and certainly requires urgent renovation. i would not even stay there for free and can NOT recommend to go there. Very bad experience.

The lobby was absolutely stunning, as was the rest of the hotel. Beautiful decorations. Room was a bit small but I was staying by myself so I didn’t mind. Location was great, about a 2 minute walk from the Queensway Train station, which basically takes you right into the city. Feels very safe for someone traveling alone!

I booked room on Expedia for over 100 pounds less than I was charged at the property. All the staff was extra nice other than the woman who checked us in. Do not fall for the pay at the property trick!

The location of the property is fantastic. Right by Hyde Park and Kensington Palace. And one street over from 2 Tube stations, and restaurants and stores. The hotel lobby is fine, but the rooms are very small, and so is the bathroom. It was hard to share the room with another person. Very closed in. Our room came with a step down right upon entering the room. I almost took a bad fall from it. The warning note about the step is smaller than a post-it note. The staff was very nice. The bed sheets were changed every other day, and the towels were changed with clean ones daily. I wouldn’t stay there again.

This hotel has some positives the staff dealing with breakfast service are a joy. Less so reception staff who have little interest in their guests. The rooms were adequate but not if you have luggage for more than a long weekend. Storage is limited. It is very handy for tube links to all London sites. Lots of places to eat so enjoy the breakfast and eat off site!

The room was barely larger than a cupboard. It was shabby with the curtain hanging off the rail and the voiles dirty and damaged. The access into the bathroom was tight and needed manouvers to get to the toilet. Not good.

A few reflections on staying here. Bed, very small. Horrible view from our window of a back alley that was very dirty. Everything really small and minimal. We don’t usually linger on our hotel rooms when traveling so it was a fine place to sleep, but front desk definitely wasn’t overly friendly-unapproachable

I love the architecture of this lovely victorian hotel . The hotel is in a lovely area which is quiet it has plenty of dining options and it has plenty of transport options - 3 buses and 2 tubes and within walking distance of oxford street for shopping

This hotel has good potential due to its location. However the beautiful old building is in need of some major redecorating: we had some mould around the handwashing basin & in 2 corners of the bath. The window has not been painted or cleaned for a very long time (ie brown muck on painted parts). The electric sockets tend to move when trying to unplug a charger. The deluxe room was super small. All in all, not of a 4* hotel, even for London standards.

While the hotel is really lovely - our room was an upgraded “Club Room” in the basement with a view of the dumpsters. Comfortable beds and clean - but so loud at 7 in the morning when the staff sorted the garbage into the dumpsters. Were we relegated to the dungeons? Felt like it. When arriving/leaving the hotel, we felt like telemarketers calling during dinner - unwelcome. Very weird vibe from the staff - not once were we greeted with a smile, nod or a polite hello (despite saying hello). One notable exception - a friendly welcome to the delicious English breakfast. The Theatre Bar is charming with its little stage and decor. But again, the bartender didn’t engage at all. Perhaps she didn’t speak English? I wouldn’t know because she didn’t even speak to tell us the price of our drinks - just turned the Interac terminal to face us. I’ve stayed here previously (5 years ago) and it has changed drastically. It’s still a gorgeous looking hotel but the staff don’t seem to like the guests or each other. Not sure that I would stay here again? While it’s a gorgeous old hotel with a cute little bar, with a fab location close to Hyde Park, and walking distance to pubs and 2 Tube stations - it’s unfortunate that the staff are so unwelcoming.

Even though I am a loyal customer to this hotel chain, I was given a room on the top floor with a tiny window and an aircon that didn't cool the room down. Still ongoing issues with my payment, as I was charged twice for my stay and the issue still isn't sorted

I’ve been staying at this hotel for over 20 years and it’s the best value for money in London, in my opinion. Great restaurants nearby, perfect for a walk through Hype Park, Bayswater & Queensway tube stations on your doorstep. Always very clean and well appointed.
