I think it always depends on the expectations. The property was okay and convenient, but for what we paid it was too much. We went in bank holiday Liverpool game, but was expensive for what we fot. The room was smaller than we expected and the cleaner barely did our bed. Average experience for an expensive price

Terrible experience. My partner and I were celebrating and we had previously stayed at the Radisson Red in Glasgow (which is very good). We checked in and were shown our room, only to discover the beds and pillows are different. The bed was firm, and on going to bed we discovered that our room was directly under water looked to be an air conditioning unit; it sounded like a jet engine cycling. My partner had important meetings, and reception told us the only thing they could do was more us to ask upgraded room at nearly midnight. We repacked and were taken to a smaller room with an equally uncomfortable bed. I spoke to the manager the following morning, as we had another room booked a few nights later due to the way we travel, and was reassured they would "take care of us." On return, we did receive an upgraded room with a larger bed (not really more comfortable) and found vouchers for drinks and breakfast. Fair enough. The breakfast was okay, but after a day in Liverpool we returned to retrieve our bags and claim our cocktails -- only to be rudely informed at the bar that our vouchers included only wine, beer, and soft drinks. Except the voucher said no such thing. A tall woman with glasses who seemed to be managing the bar became extremely abrupt, and it was only after going to reception again that we were able to claim a couple of cocktails. When the time came to leave for our train it was a relief. Darren, Tom, and David were kind. But just avoid.

Loved everything about our stay. The hotel was comfortable, the people were welcoming and so helpful, and we ate at the restaurant twice and it was delicious both times! Would definitely stay again!

The property is a magnificent Victorian building, brilliantly restored and beautifully decorated. The room was comfortable but needed more wardrobe space. The bar is really attractive but I was surprised by the early closing (10.45) especially given that it is in the centre of such a lively city.

Short stay
Pleasant room and hotel. Great location next to train station and short walk into town. Only thing was the room had tiny windows so not much of a view but overall great.

Stayed for 2 nights, the staff were so helpful and lovely, while checking us in, they explained everything in detail and made us feel so welcome. The hotel and rooms were stunning, very clean, cozy and comfortable. Would definitely recommend this hotel! We will be back in the future.

The hotel is in an ideal location, next to the train station, with a beautiful view of St George's available. The rooms have been very well refurbished, my only comments would be to upgrade the mattress topper and to provide firm pillows, rather than ones that dissolve under the weight of a head. The receptionist was not very friendly at all and I do think would benefit from some customer service training.

Easy to get to this hotel from the Lime Street Station but stay here for the lovely rooms and people. Walkable to lots of places to eat and the docks are just 10 or so minutes away walking.

Gave us the wrong room at check in and blamed hotels.com Superior rooms are small and you have to squeeze past between the desk and beds! Hot breakfast was cold! Couldn’t wait for the underground to finish for the night and didn’t need an alarm clock the next morning.

Excellent location next door to Lime Street Station. Rooms are fine although there were problems with the tv on the first night. Our main issue was that on the second day the “do not disturb” sign was on the door until noon because the last time we stayed there a maid walked in without knocking. No one called later that day to replace the towels, water, tea, milk, etc.

Such an impressive building with a fantastic stair case. Impressive Victorian iron girders on view. Lovely view from fourth floor room over St George’s Hall and the city. Staff welcoming and service excellent. So convenient for Lime Street station and local buses.

Staff on main reception good and helpful but I thought the personal on breakfast staff not very keen to look into my room number to see if I’d paid for my breakfast and charge me for this service if though I knew I’d already paid for it. They did refund me this after I paid again but need to look at the person name not the room number
