Limavady
Limavady is a pretty market townin CountyLondonderry overlooked by stunning cliffs and part of NorthernIreland's famous Causeway Coastal Route. Situated in the Roe Valley just threemiles from Lough Foyle, Limavady is the perfectplace from which to discover the country's best scenery.

Things to Do in and Around Limavady

The cliffs of Binevenagh, one of Northern Ireland's eightareas of outstanding natural beauty, loom large overLimavady. You wouldn't want to miss a day outexploring the Binevenagh Mountain Walk, with panoramic views from the summitsometimes stretching as far as Scotland. A wide range of exciting activities ison offer here, including hang-gliding, fishing and bird watching.

Just one mile outside Limavadyis the RoeValley Country Park, where you can enjoy lovely walks through maturewoodland teeming with wildlife and wild flowers, and along the River Roe as itflows through magnificent gorges and channels on its way to Lough Foyle.Activities here include rock climbing, canoeing and orienteering. The park is alsowhere you'll find the historic O'Cahan's Rock and Leap Of The Dog sculpture,celebrating a local legend from which the town ofLimavady derives its name.

Another Limavady legend is CushyGlen, the notorious 18th century highwayman who robbed and murdered travellersalong Windyhill Road. You can now find him overlooking the Largantea PicnicSite, just outside the town. The Limavady Sculpture Trail includes this andmany more of the area's myths and legends.

For a change of pace you could visit Roe Valley Arts andCulture Centre in Limavady town centre, a greatvenue to see some of the region's best theatre, live music and artexhibitions.

"Nice hotel, my room was very clean and inviting. Staff were friendly. A basic but functional gym. Mattress wasn’t the best but wasn’t the worst I’ve come across. Overall, a very pleasant stay."

Limavady is a quiet town, but enough shops and restaurants, not much nightlife that I seen!

From Limavady follow Windy Hill Road and after about 3 miles fork left on to Bishops Road. This will take you towards The Mussenden Temple, with spectacular scenery along the way.

Roe Park is a handy location between Coleraine and Londonderry with access to walks beaches and fantastic scenery. Restaurants on site are great too!
