Fabulous four poster bed
Tennis Court was in excellent condition compared to others hotels we’ve stayed at
Happy cheerful staff very friendly and helpful
Great swimming pool and facilities
Overall a very memorable stay
Fantastic hotel. A great place to stay if you want to explore the Lake District. The staff were always very helpful and easy to talk to. There were always good options during breakfast time and the spa was very relaxing.
All the staff, especially those in the bar/restaurant area were excellent. They were very accommodating, warm and friendly and nothing was too much trouble. Food was very good and reasonably priced. Room was lovely, although you do need some level of navigational expertise to find your room and your way around the hotel!
BEAUTIFUL location, ideal for walks and driving around the Lake District. Very well equipped spa/resort hotel with plenty of FREE parking. Nice restaurant, VERY large room with nice view. Full bath to relax in after a day's hiking.
Perfect place to stay. The hotel is great, staff very friendly and accommodating, breakfast was brilliant.
The spa is a very nice added bonus. Pool, sauna, steam room, jacuzzi - just what you need after a long hike!
Also has EV charging - £30 flat rate.
I would 100% stay here again.

Charming but a bit inconsistent. Staff were mostly wonderful but a couple were unprofessional. Breakfast was either good and what you asked for, or mediocre and completely wrong. The room was either serviced well or someone had walked in, changed the loo roll, left cleaning products in the bathroom and walked out. It COULD be brilliant, the gardens are beautiful, beds are comfy and clean, some of the staff are fantastic and we'll miss it but they need everyone to be as good as Liam!

Great hotel in a beautiful location, great hotel for dog lovers and for those with children.
We were very pleased with our stay.
There is a lot of renovation work going on but the hotel is still functioning well.
Maybe a couple of the staff on reception could be better trained on check in and check out etticet.
Overall good stay
I stayed in room 65. The room was clean the staff were really helpful. The breakfast was well presented and really nice. We ate there once in the evening and it was great. The spa was really nice. We both had a massage felt really relax. As anyone would tell you there lots to do in the local area, but also good to just relax. I recomend booking the treatment in advance of your stay as its hard to get hold off the massuer.
Stayed 18th April, four of us girls, and it was just the perfect place after a full day hiking.
The room was spacious, clean, and had nice little touches, biscuits, water, milk, which made a difference. Beds were really comfy, exactly what you need after a long walk.
The spa was spot on, swim, sauna, jacuzzi, just what we needed to relax.
Great value as all four of us could stay in one room, which made it more fun and easy.
Staff couldn’t do enough for us, really welcoming and helpful throughout.
Outside area was lovely too, perfect for sitting out and catching a bit of sun.
Would definitely stay again.

Renovation work is ongoing whilst we were there but it didn’t disrupt a great few nights. Warming welcome that never dimmed

Lovely hotel, all round good service. Thoroughly enjoyed my stay and would recommend it. Good value for money, fab breakfast and bar food I loved the pizzas!
Fantastic breakfast. Family room was spacious and newly redecorated. Unfortunately we didn’t get our room cleaned as the house keeping staff thought we had checked out. Toilet was dodgy. But the fantastic facilities and food definitely outweighed the toilet and housekeeping. Definitely will be back with the family. Thanks for another fab stay.
Wonderful stay at this lovely hotel. Staff are very friendly and helpful. Resturant serves very good gastro food. Breakfast selection was outstanding. Definitely would stay here again.
