Only 1 hiccup, I preordered the breakfast for 8am so could leave for the ferry on time , At 8.30 I had to request to takeaway the breakfast and ate it in the car at the ferry port. Probably the worst breakfast I ever had The guy was under pressure I suppose as I didn’t want to miss my ferry. Nice sausage bacon anaemic mushroom like shoe leather. The kitchen is excellent and there are often events in the hotel going on. On my arrival they had live music by local bands. Felt home in the area immediately. Food in the restaurant was very good had prawns in garlic starter husband had smoked mackerel pate. To follow I had ham egg chips. Gammon was huge Husband had seafood pasta with garlic bread. We also had a cocktail each. Altogether a good stay. Room very comfortable. Looks like it could be used as separate rooms with shared shower room also. Rooms were clean and beds were comfortable. Reception friendly and a great choice of options for breakfast. We used as a base as were kayaking for 2 days, so didn’t have the opportunity to try the evening meals. Their website did state that they were newer owners and in process of updating. Doing a good job of getting through it from what we saw.
