"For the price then room was fine if not a little dated only issue was some idiot smoking in one of rooms setting fire alarm off this was of course not the hotels fault did make for an early start to the day "

"The Hoel is located within two minutes walk of the centre of town which has many places to eat, drink, shop etc. Staff are fantastic. My room although a bit dated was large and very comfortable with all expected amenities. Excellent value for money and highly recommended. "

"Very beautiful castle with lovely grounds. I was able to check in early and the staff were very friendly. The rooms are big and have everything needed. There was a bit of wear and tear in the room (carpet and shower tiles) but other than that no problems. "

"I tend to stay here when working near York. It's a fantastic little place with great parking just outside your room. The rooms a spacious enough for work in the evenings and very comfortable. Breakfast is great too and the chap who runs it is really friendly. I look forward to my next stay there."
