Finally, when we received another room with seperate beds, it was extremely dirty and cold. There was visible dirt on the doors and walls. Also it smelt like a dog had been sleeping in the room. The phone was sticky. The bed uncomfortable. The staff were not very helpful until we got angry with them for making us wait 30 mins to answer 1 question. Also, the ad on hotels.com is incorrect. It is not close to the Taj Mahal at all. It’s about 30-40 mins walk away - not 1 min. It is far from the city, which is fine for us cause we like to walk, but if you need to do sightseeing, you should expect a 20 minutes walk to and from the areas that are interesting in Agra. On south gate side of Taj Mahal This hotel was in a great location for visiting the Taj Mahal and the facilities were in good condition. The only downside was the friendliness of some of the staff. Cons - Interior of room is very old,need renovation. The front of hotel is very dirty with open gutters. Service is inconsistent and room utilities are replaced only after calling room service. Phone was not working so had to goto reception to ask for everything. Access along the Eastern road is an easy walk. New hotel provides good service and breakfast all for a reasonable price.
