Everything you needed was either on the resort or very close to the resort. We visited Xplor which was a 5 minute drive and Xcaret which was a 5 minute walk. The food was really good, the drinks were amazing as well.

Horrible experience, started off with leaving us in middle of the resort in the heat for hour an half waiting for transportation to the expedia lobby to check in, then we get to the room and no welcome fruit plate, balcony sliding door is broken and doesnt close, safe is locked. It was our anniversary and we asked for something special which nothing was made. Second day we noticed we dont have hanger for wet cloths, we are 4 people in room and they left us with 2 towels, called room service 6 times to get extra towels and never brought any, we started using towels from the pool. Kids dropped cookies and juice on bed, and we thought the sheets will be changed but came on second day and it was same sheets not clean. I called room service and asked for for changing the cheet the next day, which was necer done. We were day for 7 days and same dirty sheets smelling like juice and pool color. .

Hotels is clean and its natural areas are pretty. When you book through Expedia your booking process is conducted on building 22 and we got to stay in that one. AC on my room was not working properly and I felt that we were too far from where the buffets are. Employees and services were awesome. The food was good although I feel it was not as varied as other resort I stayed. Some pools and areas are adults only and we were traveling with my 3yr daughter. Overall, the experience was good. Be prepare to be approached to take a "small talk" about a travel package Barcelo offers.

Property looks nice overall, except me and my family members (who joined me on this trip) had issues with our rooms. My room had a musty smell which affected my allergies. They accommodated my request to change rooms, but the shower only initially had hot water. Thankfully I tested the water temp first or I could have burned myself. My sister had to change room as well because toilet flush stopped working. We also experienced power failure one night during a specialty dinner which was incredibly frustrating because of the heat (no A/C temporarily). Customer service is mixed, some are pleasant and attentive, others not so much. I won’t be back to this property on my future visits to Cancun.
