"This was our second time staying at Rivera Del Rio and we will definitely be returning. The staff is lovely, the walk to the beach is 10 minutes max, there’s ample food and shopping nearby and the area is quiet. Be sure to have breakfast overlooking the river, or grab a drink at the rooftop pool."

"The hotel staff were extremely nice and helpful. Free water at reception. Small balcony w 2 chairs. There is no warm water, which was ok because it was 35 degrees. The room was a bit dusty and theres space at the top of the door so i seen a few small spiders and a gecko came into the room at one point. No ac but a fan which worked ok. Wouldnt recommend if ur staying solo but for a couple would be nice. Overall pretty nice. "

"I needed a place that was near the airport and the bus station. It needed to be near services, especially food. It needed to be relatively secure as I am an older woman traveling alone. It was all those things. It wasn't the best place I've ever stayed in nor was it by any means the worst. It was comfortable enough, the desk clerk received me with a tremendous amount of enthusiasm. "Everything was first class from check-in when we asked Marie about getting a corner room and her explaining to us the resort rules and information about the resort and restaurants. We had to call maintenance from toilet not properly flushing and quickly correcting the problem. The view was outstanding looking over the activities pool and blue water of the bay. We ate at Don Roberto restaurant waiter Eder went out of his way to get us anything we asked for. We mentioned the Black/White restaurant Steak House dinner and he said he could get it for us the next night and he did. We had the surf and turf and the lobster. It was wonderful end to a great trip. One thing to remember is the staff is there and tipping them is money that is helping hard working people. Yes, it is an All-Inclusive resort, but everyone went above and beyond. Definitely recommend the RIU Hotels and Resorts. "
