"The hotel is situated next to the Strathspey railway in Boat of Garten. The presentation of the hotel is very good and gives an impression of a cosy country house. The Scottish heritage is present throughout the hotel and I particularly liked the tartan carpets. The room we stayed in was a Classic Room, number 115. "For a 4 star hotel this was appalling. During our 3 night stay we didn’t see one member of hotel staff. No reception (self checkin & out) room was dirty I had to clean the toilet when we arrived and the cups but there was no one to tell. Rang reception several times no one picks up. Went down whole area in darkness. You would have thought the hotel was closed. Dinning room closed breakfast in attached bistro, thank goodness this was lovely. "
