"We’ve been to the Burstin many times over the years, we particularly like staying in the balcony rooms. It does urk me though that you seem to be unable to request a balcony room when booking. They are always lumped in with the other Sea view rooms and it’s getting to be more frequent that we are unsuccessful in being allocated one. "

"It was a lovely hotel that has just been renovated and they were finishing off the last floor whilst we were there May 24. The staff were all friendly and helpful. We enjoyed dinner in the bar although my chilli con carne didnt have any chilli in it. We found it easy to park. Breakfast was rrally nice fresh, and no greese at all, pouched and fried eggs were cooked to order, the fresh bread was amazing. I really clean hotel, would book here again. "

"The beds are not the usual Holiday Inn Express size, they're 4ft 6, which is tight for most couples. The windows also really need replacing, they don't really prevent any noise being heard from outside, which is ridiculous in a hotel a few yards from a 70mph carriageway. There is also no lift, so do be careful booking here if you're not able to lug your suitcase up a flight of stairs! There is only 2 good things about this hotel, the breakfast is a much better standard than most Holiday Inn...

"The hotel is under refurbishment. Our room has smells of paint. The water in the shower cant clean up your hair and body well as its so slow. "

"We loved the power of the shower. The hotel itself is set in an old building, and it showed with the creakiness of floorboards and thinness of walls, meaning you could hear conversations and movements in hallway and neighbouring rooms. Nice and close to the city centre (15 min walk to centre of high street) and good amount of onsite parking, which is a rare feature in Canterbury."

"Location was prefect walking distance to everything and lovely being next to the river with view of boats. Is on main road but the car park gives it distance so no noise. Staff were lovely especially the young bubbly lady who serviced us at breakfast who was very attentive. Room was a brilliant size double bed with 2 single bed we were very comfortable. No fridge was a bit of a let down and the room could use a good deep clean I.e. dust around the pipes in the bathroom. They let use the car park...

"My daughter and I spent a weekend at the Flackley Ash hotel and had a wonderful time. The food was very good and there is a decent pool and gym there. The best thing though are the staff they are friendly efficient and just make the experience so much better. "

"Ok .. no en suite meaning shared toilet and shower and both were small rooms which is obviously not ideal but at least you know this in advance when you book, so your choice. No lifts, steep and narrow stairs, creaky floorboards, car parks a good 10 minute walk…. but, and critically, unbelievably well located for town and cathedral and very friendly and helpful staff. The continental breakfast options were fine and adequate. Place was clean and tidy, bed comfortable. So do not expect 5 star...
