"It was a free bee night from hotel. com , we was not treated any different, we have book to stray next month , only thing wrong in the room was the tv and the mirror need to be swapped , but that just my opinion as the settee was opposite the mirror , if we took a hot shower or bath , I didn’t know where the ventaxia didn’t work or no paperwork to tell you , how it works , but other wise the room was clean , bedding was clean , love the touch that angie done it "

"We’ve been to the Burstin many times over the years, we particularly like staying in the balcony rooms. It does urk me though that you seem to be unable to request a balcony room when booking. They are always lumped in with the other Sea view rooms and it’s getting to be more frequent that we are unsuccessful in being allocated one. "

"Location in Canterbury Old Town is perfect and very convenient. However, the building's design is totally unsuitable for its location in Canterbury. The design with sealed, unopenable windows with thick sheet glass is suitable for an airport hotel but not for a hotel in the centre of a quiet area in historic city centre. Instead of natural ventilation (fresh air from openable windows) everyone has to breath stale re-circulated air with added extraordinarily strong fragrance pumped continuously...

"The hotel is slightly dated but some rerfurbishment work is currently going on. The room was fine, I slept very well and didnt hear any outside noise. Good shower"

"Staff are attentive and friendly. Certain rooms need upgrading. Priority Investments for me would be new more comfortable beds, update bathrooms and towels are too small and thin. Breakfast is decent and starts at 6.30 so timing is great.."

"The hotel is very welcoming and accommodating. Nothing was too much trouble and no request was unmet. Myself and my Grandma felt extremely safe and the service delivered was tailored to our visit. The breakfast was very filling and the food served in the restaurant was really good value for money. Absolutely will be visiting again !! The young chap on the reception was a fountain of knowledge about the area."

"Nice sea view room on 4th floor. Recently refurbished to a good standard. Liked the toothbrush charger, very handy. USB points too which is a plus. Welcome tray with tea/coffee and biscuits, always welcome. "

"The hotel is under refurbishment. Our room has smells of paint. The water in the shower cant clean up your hair and body well as its so slow. "

"We loved the power of the shower. The hotel itself is set in an old building, and it showed with the creakiness of floorboards and thinness of walls, meaning you could hear conversations and movements in hallway and neighbouring rooms. Nice and close to the city centre (15 min walk to centre of high street) and good amount of onsite parking, which is a rare feature in Canterbury."

The location is perfect - right on the seafront, but set back which reduces the noise from the road and walking distance to the old Town. It is a classic Georgian building and beautifully refurbished with lovely large comfortable rooms, complete with fridge and large screen tv. The staff are very helpful and friendly. We have stayed in Hastings many times over 15 years and this is our favourite hotel. "
